Go Ahead…Make a Mountain Out of a Mole Hill Today

As a start-up, things will obviously take time to ramp up. So when activity, any activity, occurs, it’s cause for a celebration around here. Someone is interested in reading my blog this week? Yeah! A new job seeker registered today? Yes! Our Alexa ranking actually moved from 7 million + to 960,000 in 21 days without any advertising / budget? Pop open the club soda!
Alas, it takes so little to make me happy.
Just last Friday, a new employer registered on the site. They didn’t post their jobs yet but they registered. WhooHooo! I was so happy, I sent a Thank You for Registering email and also ‘granted’ them unlimited job postings for 30 days (as the Queen of the Realm I can do that).
What’s the big deal? Perhaps there is none, really. Except… I have consciously decided to find some reason, no matter how small, to be enthusiastic each day as the idea of this niche job board spreads.
How about you? Are you purposely curbing your enthusiasm until some time in the future: when you land that ‘big client’, find that ‘dream job’ or place that ‘perfect candidate’? Why wait? What ‘mole hill’ can you turn into a ‘mountain’? Is there something, anything, about what you have now, where you are now, what you are doing and accomplishing now that you can celebrate today? (although today is a ….Monday)
