Niche Job Board Trends 2008: What’s The Appeal for Employers-Part 2 of 2

By admin | November 9, 2007

Employers, recruiters and Human Resources professionals have many options today when it comes to their online recruiting strategies, including their own websites.  They also use one-stop shop general job boards to cast wide nets online.  So why will professionals with staffing needs, big and small, continue to advertise their job openings on Niche Job Boards as well?  Because there are 3 things Niche Job Boards offer them that general job boards do not:

1.      Niche Job Boards give employers a chance to show genuine recognition and acknowledgement of the job seekers’ individual point of view.  For employers, the simple measure of advertising their job opportunities where job seekers actually are illustrates a sincere regard for the job seekers’ perspective.   Where employers advertise their job opportunities may leave an impression about the character of their entire organization and may influence subsequent thoughts of their organization.  It’s an opportunity for employers to create an immediate applicant experience and make a great first impression.

2.      Niche Job Boards allow employers to develop a relevant dialogue with job seekers regarding their skill sets on a surface level as well as their likes and dislikes on a deeper level.  The very function of Niche Job Boards magnifies the less obvious for employers while enhancing the development of the relationship— a valuable aid in the introduction to and recruitment of the applicant.

3.      Niche Job Boards may give employers hints about the job seekers’ self- interests.  In a subtle way, prospective employers must, at some point, concern themselves with the job seekers’ personal considerations.   Niche Job Boards where employers find applicants can also be used as a step to begin to understand the job search process from job seekers viewpoint even allowing employers to modify their online job advertising process accordingly. Just a mere glimpse can contribute to the overall success of the employers’ online recruitment strategy.

General job boards help assemble pools of representative applications for employers to sort through.  It’s a purpose.  However, a critical purpose of Niche Job Boards is to support the job seeker and further his interest as well as to contribute to the success of the employers’ online recruiting strategies  Let’s face it: job seekers are interested in improving their lives either socially, economically or both. Employers are interested in improving their overall business position.  The aim of recruiting is to uncover and select the ‘right’ person for the ‘right’ career opportunity.  And naturally no person is in the ‘right’ job until their own interests as well as the interests of their employer are being met.The superstructure of Niche Job Boards organically highlights the interests and abilities of the individual job seeker for employers just a little further than general job boards do.  And the employers, recruiters and Human Resources who can uncover the interests of the job seeker and relate those interests with their job opportunity is taking the most advantageous approach from all view points. Niche Job Boards will continue to be an effective advantage.
